concept

The shiatsu practitioner will work with the meridians known as well from acupuncture by pressure of his fingers mostly. Aim is to harmonize the flux of our vital energy "qi" in the meridians and thus the entire human being.

The marriage of shiatsu and aromatherapy under the name of "phyto-energetic", has been developed in the French Shiatsu Institut (IFS) of Michel ODOUL by combining the knowledge of him and Elske MILES. At the moment she will be taught exclusively at the IFS.

You'll find more information about shiatsu and the IFS at:

development

shiatsu is based on the logic of the traditional chinese medicine (tcm).
This logic builds still today the ground for most treatments in Asia, whether at home or in hospital.
It has been developed over many thousands of years by carefully observing man and nature.

It evolved from the chinese Tuina technique and reached Japan in the 10th century.
Its japanes name shiatsu, meaning "pressure with fingers", was created in the beginning of the 20th century. Especially Namikoshi and Masunaga have worked for its recognition.

traditional chinese medicine

medicine of several millennia, its wisdom has been collected by carefully observing man and the impacts of its inner and outer life hygiene.
It uses a global view onto nature and its balances, in which body and mind are not separable.
Everything is in everything is a well-conceived way of putting it.
Never satisfied by "chances" it is finding sense inside and outside of us.

role in modern society

More and more countries are interested in the success of some chosen techniques of complimentary medicine. Especially long-lasting, chronic pains seem not to vanish despite the efforts of modern western medicine, let alone the rising costs of it.
